Running a wedding venue means making hundreds of decisions that guests never see but your business feels every day. After nearly ten years of doing exactly that—and planning a wedding herself—Leah built The Venue Edit to help other venue owners approach those decisions with greater clarity and confidence.
Before opening Historic Ashland, Leah built her career in the corporate world before combining her business background with entrepreneurship. She later earned her MBA, became an Adjunct Professor, joined the board of Explore York, and has been featured in publications and podcasts across the wedding industry—but she still considers venue ownership to be her greatest teacher.
For years, Leah thought she was in the business of hosting weddings. Venue ownership taught her something different. The real work happens long before guests arrive, where pricing, staffing, operations, communication, and leadership quietly shape the experience people eventually remember.
